    Default Outlet very near toilet

Is there any kind of code that specifies how far away from a toilet an electrical outlet has to be?

The only code says that if you install a white receptacle outlet in a white wall ... for cryin' out loud - use a white cover plate ...

Actually, can be quite useful. I've installed outlets in a similar location in two of my bathrooms for use with Brondell seat bidets.

I'd be more concerned why they did not center the toilet.

So they had room to access the outlet ... as long as they have a minimum of 15" from the center line of the toilet to the wall on the short side it meets minimum code requirements.

Isn't that one of those 600 dollar Toto toilets?

Agree, does look like a AS dual flush, odd how we notice such things.
I realize it could be convenient but I don't get it. I do however see more and more of these installed.

If they are going to be there long enough to require an i-phone charger, they are going to need a padded toilet seat.

I would have put the receptacle on a side wall and centered the toilet. I guess its the engineer in me.

I would have done the same ... and I'm not an engineer ... just makes sense while trying to plug something in or unplug it - unless it was intended for a heated toilet seat, in which case the cord would be less in the way going to the back wall.

I may make a comment in the report , Safety Concern- " Caution peeing on the outlet is a potential shock hazard "

Definitely recommend a GFCI outlet in your report.
