Looks like plenty of prior leaking from somewhere under the sink.

Why was the disposer shored up? Is the sink made of very, very thin stainless steel? That setup surely causes the entire cabinet to vibrate when the disposer is running.

Dont know why it was jacked up but there was lots of rust at the sink connection, maybe not enough metal left on the unit??

I would think that the locking ring is loose. Homeowner did not know to tighten the ring, so they propped it up to get rid of the vibration.
