Water Heater Draft Hood
Ok, so I did about an hour of researching and found no height requirements for the distance between a water heater and the draft hood.
So, of course I wrote it up, but has anyone found the required distance in which the hood should?

Re: Water Heater Draft Hood
Since the standoffs are bent, the height is wrong. Install the product as listed/labeled and designed, with the required attachment to prevent movement
FWIW, there's way more going in that photo as well.

Yes. much more going on, but my question was about the correct height. I know the stand-offs are bent.

Re: Water Heater Draft Hood
The height is based on a correct installation of the product, which includes the manufacturer supplied draft hood.
You can't modify or cut or bend any part of the draft hood.

Re: Water Heater Draft Hood
Another way to state the answer to the question is that the proper height of the draft hood is with unbent standoff legs, as they came from the factory.
The code reference would be that the water heater needs to be installed in accordance with the code and ... that "and" is key ... and the manufacturer's installation instructions.
