Unknown plumbing device
Has anyone seen one of these. Sealed, metal, has serial number on it.
Printed on it was:
Original technology-Grunder
made in Austria.
Google didn't help.
Installed on home side after water meter
Thanks in advance!

I wonder if it's some kind of magnetic doohicky that's supposed to remove toxic goobers, or whatever, from the h2O? Did you check it for magnetism?

Re: Unknown plumbing device
My vote's for some random water hammer device. I glanced through part of what Fritz posted, but don't want to read through what was posted.... hence the water hammer guess.

Re: Unknown plumbing device
In order for a water hammer chamber to work I though it had to be at the end of the runs? Perhaps it was installed to capture sediment? But there appears to be no way to clean out or open the box.
