Cheap Man's Sump
First photo of sink drain under slab to main drain waste to street. I decided to do a Little digging to see if it is even connected. What I found was hole in sink drain someone had drilled to get rid of water coming under foundation.
(Owner disclosure says no water in basement) Flashlight to hole and mud starting to gather in drain. Sewer gases to house. New England Ingenuity at it's finest.

Man that was a heck of catch. I guess the mud made you dig and check it?

Re: Cheap Man's Sump
My buddy could have used a sump after the storm that just went through.
Pool party anyone.

I thought the drain from the sink was not connected and thats what the water was all about. Thats why the dig.(You can see the drain entering in the first pic)

Dave - It's a great feeling when you follow that gut feeling to go a little further than SOP and then be rewarded with such a find.
Truly a great job!
