Drip leg at CSST? - InspectionNews

I assume (which may make me an ass) that CSST would need a drip leg at/before appliance connections just like black pipe? True or False?

The real way to do it is have the black pipe be the connection to the HVAC or water heater with the CSST just bring the gas in from the main black pipe and connecting it to the black pipe connection at the appliance and the drip leg be right there.

Its actually a "sediment trap".

True !
We would install black pipe with the drip leg and gas valve at the furnace and water heater and also run black pipe up to at least 6 foot high, then install the CSST, I use (Dimond Back) at that height to prevent a young child from hanging on the CSST. The black pipe is more rigid and we would secure it good. Never had any trouble with doing it that way. I have seen it installed all the way down to the furnace and water heater with a drip leg but I think that is not safe and poor workmanship. (lazyness)
