Gas line for cook top routed through down draft vent
Can anyone tell me if the gas line for a cook top is allowed to be routed through the down draft vent?

Thanks for the help!

Re: Gas line for cook top routed through down draft vent
I would call that out.

The gas line is succeptible to damage as it is unptotected. Shouldn't it be steel? I would hate to get into that with a shovel.
The vent will be left open to birds/vermin.

Plus, it's not allowed to be routed in there anyway.

Think potential gas leak, collects in pipe, something sets it off when pipe is full and gas comes out its ends ...

BOOM!
