This type of gas flex is not intended for use outside, correct?

Re: Flex used in exterior
Hey fritz, Check on the nut if you can read it labeling information should be printed on there. Also this is an appliance connector should not be used as an extension of the gas piping.

Re: Flex used in exterior
Buddy, I have to go back tomorrow and will check if there are any labels on it. It sure looked like an appliance connector to me.
Bruce, do you mean Dormont for the brand of the flex?

Looks like that is being used for 'part of' a branch line, possibly to an appliance, but it is not being used as 'an appliance connector'.

Yes, thats the typical Brand I see a lot.
I agree, the application in the picture does not look right.

Re: Flex used in exterior
It was used to connect the pipe from the meter to the pipe through the chimney to the gas stove insert. It doesn't sound like it is OK for this but maybe I'm being overly picky. It seems like it may be subject to physical damage where it is.

Re: Flex used in exterior
I read this thread yesterday. I didn't believe that it was OK to use an appliance connector as part of a branch line outside.
I was in rather of a hurry and I swear to God, I thought:
"Peck will read that link and highlight the good stuff tomorrow".
Jerry, you're making me lazy.

Chad,
You are not lazy, you are just 'still tired' from all that running around you did the other day ("Just last week I spent a LOT of time on the phone and internet researching that bit of information.") looking for one "l".
You've got to learn to manage your energy resources better.
