Inverted Drain or What is this?
Performed a 1 yr warranty inspection this morning. In the basement I found this growth of pipes sticking out of the waste line. Someone had written on the pipe DRAIN but it does not appear to drain anything.

Wondering if anyone has any guesses as what this was supposed to be or might be?

Thanks!

Re: Inverted Drain or What is this?
Possibly for a lift pump that has not yet been installed or was omitted from the basement?

Re: Inverted Drain or What is this?
I agree with John. Prepiped (a little bit) for a sewage ejector pump to be hooked up to the drain line.

Was the pump installed in the floor below this??

Here's a sump with a sewage ejector next to it.

Note the water powered backup for the sump pump.
