Re: BASEMENT PUMP USED for WASHER MACHINE
Robert,
Improperly wired dryer connection.

Improper Washer drain.

Improper Dryer Exhaust.

Evidence of water intrusion on left side of basement window and on right side crack.

I'd start with that

Buy the way Robert is the Blue Bird School Bus manufacturing facility still next to The Roper Range Assembly Plant?

Re: BASEMENT PUMP USED for WASHER MACHINE
Billy,

I don't see where the dryer would be improperly wired and is that a sump pump?

Mr. Davidson,

If you click on the 2nd picture and zoom in . That squiggle line going to the outlet looks like
Romex draped across the wall and split before entering.

Sure looks like a sump to me.

Re: BASEMENT PUMP USED for WASHER MACHINE
Billy,
So what type and size of wiring should have been used?

Mr> Davidson,

The type and size is not the issue. The wiring method is. As you have stated in other post
you are new to HI please call out the electrician and learn some basic electrical.

Re: BASEMENT PUMP USED for WASHER MACHINE
Based on the water staining running across the basement floor, I'd say that the sump pump clothes washer drain system is inadequate for the the use (it's a sump pump, not a clothes washer drain pump) and that a proper clothes washer drain system needs to be installed.

A clothes washer can dump out 20-30-40 gallons of water QUICKLY, I doubt that setup can keep up with it, hence the water running across the floor.

Don't forget about that plastic dryer vent - not allowed.

Oh, yeah, and that can holding up the trap for the clothes washer standpipe? Priceless.

Mr. Davidson,

We all have to learn and it's an on going process.

If your are unprepared to inspect some ones home you are doing them and yourself a disservice.

Some of the issues we check are life and limb concerns.
I would not want to be responsible someones death or disablement for lack preparation.
