Which way does it drain to? To the left (behind the trap) or to the right?
What is to the right and what is to the left (behind the trap)?
I 'think' it drains to the left and behind, into the back wall, either way, a wye should be installed instead of a tee.
I see several problems with those fittings, starting with the wall bend coming up out of the 'P' trap ... there is no depth in the fitting it is into for the slip ring to seal well and have much grip on that piece, which could allow it to fall out, or at least leak.
Is that a bathroom with a pop-up drain? Looks too small to be anything other than a lavatory 1-1/4" drain.

Well now that I can see a picture, Yes it is screwed up. It can be corrected, but it will take a plumber who has some knowledge and ability and not the homeowner. |

Woah! What the crap?
I'm having a hard time telling exactly what I'm looking at.
What's coming out of the wall behind the trap?
How does it drain into the hall bath's drain?
I'm guessing, and this is based on very limited data, that the trap at one point drained into the back wall. That *appears* to be a trap adapter coming out of it. Also, note the crud ring on the wall arm of the trap where a ferrule used to be. I can't guess to the motivation of moving the drain though.
EDIT: Also, that tee, and the pipe with the short bend coming out of (what should be) the bottom of it, looks like the kind you'd use to join two sink drains together before sending it into a trap. If it is, that tee has baffles in it meant direct water downward and prevent it from going across the tee.
