h2o venting
1950 house, 10 yr old h2o tank, can there be a 90 degree elbow in the vent line? line goes up 12" with a 90 then 8" into a larger vent up to roof.
problem is that the pilot light goes out? new gas valve, new thermocouple. only change is an upper combustion air vent was added!
thanx cris

Re: h2o venting
Maybe that larger vent you mentioned is too big and with the added combustion air vent improving the flow through the room it's blowing out the pilot.

Re: h2o venting
Had this problem once and the manufacturer told me, that there is insulation just above the access burner door that was supposed to be pulled down over the inner panel and then install the outer panel. I thought he was nuts, but I did what he said and the pilot never blew out again. Good luck!
