Emergency shut off switches.
I inspected a house yesterday with two FHA furnaces, both gas fired, and UL listed on the nameplate.

A separate emrgency shut-off switch was provided for each furnace. (one on the first floor the other on the second floor).

Are multiple switches allowed?
Should they be wired in series so that any switch would shut both units?
It seems like the multiple separate switches could be confusing to the home owner in an emergency.

Also, I though that UL listed gas furnaces do not require remote shut off switches?
