Found something I'm not familiar with.3 year old house,this is about 3 feet in front of house under the shrubs. Heard some water running in it. Is this part of the waste removal system? Thanks for any help.
Based on the size, it looks like a sewage grinder to me. They also pump waste, so that might account for the noise. However, I'll admit they aren't too common around here.
I saw one similar many years ago. The home was very close to a creek and they could not get a permit for leach lines, so he had a special septic system installed that pumped air into a deep chamber like that one and then just drained into the creek. I am sure I over simplified the procedure, but you get the idea.
