    Default Are these shims legit?

    Attached are two photos showing steel shims between the girder and masonry pier.

    The second photo represents the configuration of every pier in the house (all have shims and are all shimmed this way). Is this okay?

    The first photo has a wooden shim on one side and metal shims on the other. How legit is this? I think the building inspector told them no wooden shims and they just added the steel shims.
