Correct junction between masonry chimney and BUR
Does anyone have a diagram of the correct method of making this transition?

I think Barry has a good eye and he can see a chimney flashing under all that tar.
That roof/wall flashing on the lower left of pic1 is a piece of work too.

the flashing membrane in the vertical plane should be terminated per BARRY ADAIR link or have a least a termination bar fastened properly to the brick where the flashing is installed.
