Asbestos roof shingles
What do asbestos roof shingles look like? Are there different types? Are they still made?

Here in Chicago I see this pattern occasionally, you have to check all sides of all roofs, for example you may find it’s been left on garages when the main structure has been re-roofed:

One red flag to check further are shingles that overlap one other on one side:

I’ve also seen this type of Transite roofing, usually on shed roofs:

The bottom line is that asbestos can look,superficiallyat least, like just about any other kind of shingle roofing.
