Short section of butterfly style roof construction. The flashing is to prevent leaks when (not if) the water flows under the shingles at the bottom of the slope. If the flashing looked good and had a slope as you mentioned it did, it should hold up for a while. I would like to see rain and ice shield under the shingles and flashing.
Possible report comments:
Flashing more succeptible to damage, especially hail, rust
Roof style vulnerable to leaks, increasing risk of rot and interior damage
