Jeff,

From the looks of the shingles under the drip edge, it looks like there IS flashing there.

What you don't see is the counterflashing. I'd be careful saying there was *NO* flashing there.

Hard to tell but that looks pretty questionable. Is that mastic?? Caulk?? Flashing??
The gutter looks like it terminates inside the veneer! Can't tell if the pan flashing terminates at the roof edge(if there is a flashing at all), does not look like there is a kick out flashing. I see moisture intrusion with that setup.

That's my take anyway...
