    Default Metal Roof Top Opening

This just doesn't look right to me. The top of the narrow metal roof panel is left open - shouldn't there be some way of keeping water out of there?

The roof panel should have been cut and folded to lap over the boxing, even if there is a Z bar in there it would still be wrong. Also the vinyl soffit should not be turned up vertical especially with the vented section.

These are a couple of tell tale signs of a builder using the cheapest labor he can find.

The panel design would make bending the roof panel very difficult. I have seen contractors fabricate covers for this from ridge cap.

Thanks for the replies - I knew it didn't look right and I couldn't imagine any reason that it would be right - but I'm not an expert on metal roofs, so I wanted opinions from people who know more than I do. Thanks again!
