Has any one heard of any recent (5-10 years) recall on composition asphalt shingles, (possibly from CertainTeed)? I've looked around and other than general griping on one homeowner forum, have found no information. Did a 7-year house today that the roofer had come through and replaced all the roofs in a medium sized neighborhood (without being asked). The owner was told that the origial roof material had been some 'experimental' new material that didn't work out. Am trying to track down the builder. Sorry, no further info, but also seem to remember hearing some comment about this a couple of months ago.
