Flue clearance
Does a water heater flue pipe require the same 3-2-10 rule same as firplaces. For the life of me I cant find my reference.

Do not have code but if closer than 8 feet to wall vent must extend 2 feet above roof.

Jim, I'm not sure about that. But how close is that flue pipe to the adjacent roof surface? Is that type-B vent or single walled?

That's single walled pipe. The pipe is almost touching the wood fascia. I have the one inch clearance from the roof sheathing but I dontThink I have one inch from the fascia. I'm also concerned about drafting properly.

NFPA 54 12.7.2. Gas Vent Terminations.
A.........
B Gas vents that are over 12 inches in size or are located less than 8 ft. from a vertical wall or similar obstruction shall terminate not less than 2 ft. above the highest point where they pass through the roof and not less than 2 ft. above any portion of a building within 10 ft horizontally.

Single Walled pipe clearance is 6 inches. B vent is 1 inch clearance from combustibles.

That single wall should not be going through the attic. Needs to be type B or L.

My bad, That is a type B flue, however it is less than 12 inches in diameter. Does the same clearance from horizontal objects apply?
