Stand alone General Liability Insurance?
I am just getting started in the business and am looking to do some ride alongs with Hi's in the area.
For this I believe I need my own general liabilty insurance so they ( the mentoring HI) and I am covered. I contacted FREA and they do not offer a stand alone liability policy.
I am curious if anyone knows other providers who may offer stand alone general liability policy without the $3500 E&O policy.
I would also devour and appreciate any advice that members could give a new guy when it comes to insurance.
I am in the process of incorporating as an LLC.
Thanks again,
Jade Bos

Re: Stand alone General Liability Insurance?
Contact the company that you have your homeowners or car insurance with. Most will write business liability coverage. My GL is with Shelter Insurance and my E&O is now with BRP.

Re: Stand alone General Liability Insurance?
All I know is, I tried to get GL when I was doing ride-alongs, and couldn't. I talked to a company that does insure home inspectors, but they told me that since the jobs I would be attending weren't "mine", they couldn't sell me coverage. Actually what they said was that they could sell me coverage, but that it wouldn't really cover me if something happened. Sheesh.

Re: Stand alone General Liability Insurance?
Allen Insurance will write stand-alone General Liability.
If you try the company who writes your homeowners and/or auto, see if they will cut you a multi-line discount. Worth a try at least.

Re: Stand alone General Liability Insurance?
Yep! They sure do! Just have a spare leg or arm handy? IF you buy E&O with them, GL is a low cost inclusion. However, the GL by itself cost is around double. I paid $684 for 300K. A contractor can get $1M coverage for $200-300. Heck! The auto $1M liability policy that includes our teenage daughter is more reasonable (proportional risk)
The above statements are expressed solely as my opinion and in all probability will conflict with someone else's.
