    Default fine home building

This kind of fine workmanship is all too rare these days.

    Things happen.
I remodeled a bathroom in one of my rentals.
New tile and single handle faucet in the tub.
Without thinking I put the new faucet and spout where the old faucet and spout was.
However the new faucet has a 10" round trim.
I had to cut a notch in the trim to fit around the spout.
Either that or rip out the tile to move the faucet.
Really bad part is, I have replaced faucets before and know to move the new one, just forgot.

    You sound like my wife.

Try looking for the positives...like the scroll work around the edge of the sill.

I did a house last year where the door installer measured from the bottom of the door to drill the holes for the locksets, but measured the jambs from the top to install the strike plates. Didn't quite line up.
