#1 - a plug was needed, and there was an old faucet in the junk box. But that doesn't explain the washer hose, does it?

Mr. Handy uses a garden hose, a washer hose and that old faucet to drain his water heater. That's gotta be it.

#2 - Mr. Sawzall strikes again. Yikes!

Nope, I saw the access was cut so I popped it open I saw the wiring inside the wall, then looked at the grill and saw the covering of the romex had been peeled back. I could see the hot wire inside the grill. I couldn't see any exposes copper, but decided to check it with the sniffer anyways. The pic with the drywall removed the sniffer was right by the hot wire.

By the way, this house was an occupied rental.

You have to come up with some way to stop the kids from putting money into the grill lika a piggy bank. It is called creative problem solving.
