 It it is not still plugged, you should see water everywhere when the disposal is in operation with the water on.
 You could also see or feel inside the port for the solid plug.

	04-15-2007, 09:38 PM #3 Re: food disposer Re: food disposerPut your screw driver in that hole. If you feel it hit something solid just inside the opening, if so, that is the factory knock out Jim mentioned. 
 
 That is for the dishwasher drain hose. If not used, the knockout should still be in place. If not, everyone will know about it like Jim said when they turn on the disposer.

 I stuck a screwdriver in the disposer opening once to find the knock out had been removed, but it was clogged up with enough texture and paint material that it wouldn't even leak.
 
 It leaked very well after I poked my screwdriver through it.
