    Default What is this?

    Anyone know what this controls? It was found in the hallway of an old timer home.
    I believe possibly a control for an old steam boiler.

    Best guess...

    A draft control mechanism to control the former coal boiler/furnace via cables. Crank handle was removable.

    That's it - assuming it is by chimney. Saw one similar last winter; took a half hour of head scratching before the old memory kicked in.
