    Default Never saw this before

during a recent inspection of a house built in 1953 I noticed many of these outlets around, and I just wanted to share and see if anyone has seen these in the past.DSCN4652 (450x338).jpg

Old 4 prong or 4 slot.
I think they're from the '50's, seen them a few times, usually decommissioned, in a non-upgraded part of a older home. Most have been replaced long ago.

They were sold into the 1970's and were made by GE. The idea was to plug in more than 2 cords without using a cube tap. They are pretty much useless with today's wider plugs.

In any case they are older than me... Maybe they can be used to charge cars in future
