    what do you think is happening, how would you descibe this location on a roof (saddle?). It should be repaired yes?

    what about those sliding tiles

    Looks like one of two things, maybe both (one is maybe why the other was done).

    1) Tile underlayment was used for that cricket area. Tile underlayment IS NOT sunlight resistant and each rolls label states 'Do Not Leave Exposed To Sunlight'. When non-sunlight resistant tile underlayment deteriorates, it deteriorates and looks like that, you can see all the way through those cracks to the underlayment felt or the plywood.

    2) Surface was flood coated with asphalt and alligatored by age.

    what about those sliding tiles
    Don't look like they are 'sliding', just 'loose'. The courses look too straight for the tile to be 'sliding'. Just individual 'loose' tiles.
