410.8 governs "clothes closets", but what about "storage cabinets"?
What section of the NEC governs light fixtures in built in storage cabinets?
- Thanks

I think they would be the same. Globed fixture required. Almost looks like they built the kitchen around that one.

None.
What is under that built-in cabinet?
Could it have been a closet with a closest light and someone added a bottom and doors through the wall? Just curious if that could have been a possibility as otherwise there is no reason for having a light in there, and, there is plenty reason NOT to have that light in there.

Yep, probably was originally a "full height" broom closet which then had the ceiling lowered and the wall cut open to allow for that storage.
That would explain "why" that light was installed originally.
Thought I had answered that with my previous "None."The question is still open: what code section prohibits this arrangement?
The codes do not address "stupid people tricks".
