Markusland
Markus Keller invited me along on one of his Chicago REO "expeditions" this morning, see if you can guess which of these is NOT from the crawl space.

Damn those pictures are better than mine.
I'm recommending both buildings for demolition. Problems are to extensive to make rehab feasible, even with Govt money.

Re: Markusland
I see the lead water service in pic #2, but what's that fitting it seems to be coming out of? I've seen a lot of lead pipes, but none that look like that.

Re: Markusland
The slip coupling or the lead ball?
Slip coupling repair is common when the lead pipe gets whacked by a shovel, hammer, etc. when someone is messing around down there.
The lead ball is what makes the connection between the lead and the galv. pipe tying into it.
Not sure which one you meant.
