Just found out my son got accepted into the Navy's EOD program today. (Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician). His PT times were top in our state. I think I'm probably more excited than he is.

Congrats! I know many EOD tech's from my time in the Marine Corps, an absolute neccesity in dealing with the IED threat. The training they get is top notch and the oppurtunities are endless for them in both the military and civilian sector.

    Waitaminnit!

Are you guys congratulating Marc that his son is now in one of the most dangerous occupations around? We ARE talking about munitions and explosives disposal here. It's impressive, yes. But there are no little mistakes.

Oh, sorry Marc. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Congrats Marc. Yes, your son's field is not for the faint of heart but an absolute necessity for the safety of our military. He is an inspiration to both young and old.

Thanks for you comments guys. He (and his friend who joined together) say they are "just doing their part". Wow..., I find it extraordinary that at such a young age these kids, men and women find the courage to put themselves in harms way for us. Very impressive.

To me that is perhaps as worthy of congratulations as making it into the program. I meet a lot of veterans in my work, and the dedication and selflessness they have is so admirable.

Good work, Marc! You must have done something right!
