Good, and it's on the correct side of the trap.

The only thing really wrong with that trap is that the inlet and outlet are at the same level - the inlet should be higher than the outlet, typically at least 2" higher. What you have is simply a deep running trap (running traps have the inlet and outlet at the same level), running traps are not allowed.

    Mr. Peck,

With the Summer we have had here 100 -105 high humidity I could see the prospect of the drain pan over flowing due to improper drain.

At the least water in the pan year round shorting the life of the system.

    Billy,

Is that in reference to the 6" high vent or ... ????

If in reference to the 6" high vent and thinking it is too short, that vent is higher than the pan, so the pan would overflow before the vent would.

Other than that ... I'm stumped as to what you are talking about and referring to.

    Mr. Peck,

The reference to 6' height vent was only to note what it was in the (lousy Picture) as it is not shown. Yes drain pan overflow and standing water year round shorting the life of the system. Carrier electric heat with 100 amp breaker in the garage. I'm still trying to
figure out Irfan View thumbnails. I'm either over the file size or image size to upload.

    Billy,

Google what is known as Bomes Image Resizer.

They have a free download that is great for sizing pics.

    Thanks Rick,

The other photo is a Tennessee Armadillo.

He's waiting to get his armor out of the shop.
