    Default Single plumbing stack

I inspected a 1970's raised rancher with 3 bathrooms and kitchen. The home only had a single 4" (maybe 6) vent over one corner of the home. The kitchen sink was 20' from the vent and the master bath was about 30' from the stack. I was not able to view the attic connections due to an access issue.

do plumbing codes allow for a single vent???

    Thanks

Yes, if the fixture unit count is within the number of fixture*units for the 4" vent.

In 1990's houses and newer, I would anticipate finding AAVS at the other fixtures.

Or, there are branch vents that connect to the main you cannot see.

The fixture unit rating of the one vent would still be required to meet the fixture unit load.

And unless all the fixtures were basically back to back to back, revents would be required anyway.
