Default I've never seen this type of water heater before

This is a new one to me. I've never come across a water heater like this before. Does anyone know about this type of unit or have any specs for this unit. I called Rheem/Ruud today to ask about a spec sheet. Tech. support had to search the archives and could not find any technical data for this unit and all he had was the product overview. In fact, the technical rep. said he wasn't familiar with this particular type of unit. If any of you know anything about this type of water heater and would care to share that would be very helpful. Because of the location of the unit in relationship to the walls I could not see behind it very well and could not find the TPRV. (See attached photos)

    Thanks!

I see these from time to time. The top slides off toward the front and you can see the wiring, pipes and TPR. I mostly see them installed in kitchens, or small laundry rooms.

Same as Jack..... Might see 1 a year if that. The ones that are 20 years old look the same as a new unit. They never change...

And that one is 40 years old ... if I am recalling the serial number date coding right.

About the only place I used to see those were in condos, and they were tucked in under the counters in the kitchen - which never did make sense, and those were all from the 60s and 70s too.

Probably has the old lead pellet type of T&P, and with a 3/8" od discharge line, all the old ones I saw had those in common with the old units like that.
