Default Chimney material. Is this an asbestos product?

I saw this older chimney today 1950's 60's vintage home. It is encased in what looks like concrete but when tapped on sounds more like a light weight carboard or paper material. anyone know what this could be. The old chimney ports are closed off and the other 2 vents look more recently updated.

Asbestos? Until it's lab tested I wouldn't go any further than it might be, could be, or may be. "I dunno" is also a safe answer.

Given the circa of the home it is likely it contains asbestos, but if anyone is in doubt a test would confirm.

Looks like asbestos transite pipe. More than likely manufactured at the now defunct Johns-Manville plant in Waukegan,Illinois.

Is the flexible vent an approved vent. It kind of looks like a dryer type vent that is attached with a hose clamp in the picture.

Galen, Your point is a good one. I should have inspected that better. I don't believe I can dismantle that but a few taps may have at least indicated an insulated wall or just a hollow. It does look like regular aluminum dryer vent.

Galen it could be stainless steel- one piece liner. Also that is not a wye connector its a tee and I believe it to be wrong.
