    Default new improved heat pumps?

Anyone have any experience with these new heat pumps that supposedly don't require any back-up?

    John,

I would take that "No back up system required" to mean the same thing as the "No fossil fuel required" means ...

That 'the back up' would be emergency heat, which would be operated by electricity, which requires (their statement) "no fossil fuel required".

We all know, however, that most electricity is generated from fossil fuel.

They claim their system doesn't use the conventional electric back-up heat, but instead have a second compressor that allows the heat pump to work efficiently even at very low temps.
