    Default To all texas inspectors...

Has anyone ever tried a round rock donut? I hear they are the best damn donuts in the world. People lined up for hours on a saturday just to get one.

Round rock is just north of austin so if any of you are ever in that area, I recommend picking up a dozen and letting me know if they truly are that good. I gotta get down there someday!

    Hey Brian,

Live in the next city over. Round Rock donuts are very good. Better than a Krispy Kream. They have an orange tint to them...not sure I want to know why. As far as lining up for hours? I don't think any donut would have me lining up. But we do have some interesting people here that would wait for them.

I can always mail or overnight you one!

I actually thought about having them delivered but it was very expensive to do so. The orange/yellow tint to them has to do with the egg yolks that they use. I think that is what adds a special touch to them that you dont see with other doughnuts.

I doubt I will ever be in the austin area anytime soon but If I am, I will probably have to make my way to round rock for a dozen. I love krispy kreme and I can imagine any donut is better than the krispy kreme glazed but I have heard the same thing from others as well.

Them thar donuts in Round Rock had the same reputation back in the mid-1970s. We Aggies used to stop there on the way to and from Austin for the A&M-Texas football game.

Krispy Kreme opened a store out here in the late 1990s. People started lined up at 6:00 p.m. the day before the opening. Lines eventually dwindled over the years, so much so that two years ago they closed the store. Thankfully. They were ruining the donut industry here in San Diego.

Independents are the way to go! Sunny's Donuts. Donut Star. Anything except Krispy Kreme, Dunkin' and the other ones.

    JB,

If your ever over in the Garland area, stop in at Donuts by George on Broadway.

Southern Maid is great also. Ever notice now how all the donut stores are run by the Asian folks? Except for ole George that is.

My first experience with Krispy Kreme was several years ago when we were arriving in Savannah GA. While driving down a street about 11 pm. I noticed all these cars in the parking lot and people buzzing in and out of this donut store that had a sign flashing HOT DONUTS. I told the wife I had to stop and check it out. After about a dozen of those hot donuts I thought I had found heaven. Since then I never found them to the be same elsewhere.

Being allergic to wheat (now that I know I am) I don't eat much with wheat it in anymore, but before then ...

Nothing beat a dozen or two HOT NOW! Krispy Kreme glazed donuts. Yummy!

If you by Krispy Kreme donuts and the are not right off the HOT NOW! line, you can get the same (almost the same) thing by putting the Krispy Kreme glazed donut in the microwave for 8 seconds (might be 10 seconds on some microwaves) - that makes those donuts melt in your mouth just as if you had just taken them out of the glazing dunk at the store.

If you've never tried that before, try it, you will like it.

    Electrical

What do you think when you see tape, wire nut and outlet device, such
as toggle switches and duplex receptacle.

Thanks to all who take time to reply.

I'd take it back to the manager and ask what the hell is this stuff doing in my donut.

They say the "hole" in the donut is the healthiest part. Makes no sense that you have to eat through the other to get to it.
