Default Newly Minted Inspector in Illinois

My name is Wayne and I've been a licensed home inspector for allmost a whole month now (how time flys).
I hav'nt performed my 1st fee paid inspection yet (still rounding up the essential tools for the job).
My back ground has been in the building trades for 30 years and have done everything from painting and decorating to working with new home builders as a finisher doing appliance installation and final inspection walk through just prior to closing.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi and state how happy I am to find what appears to be a very active and professional forum.

Looking forward to contributing anyway I can.

Wayne, if you start getting work in your area inspecting those endless lot line to lot line McMansions your skills will surely be tested.
Sometimes when I see those under construction and the jobsite is open or there aren't too many workers, I'll stop in and take a look around as a training and reference exercise.
You'd be amazed at what you can look at with a hardhat, clipboard and friendly attitude.
    Good luck.

Thank's for the well wishes guys n gals.
Marcus, It's good to see another inspector so close to home.
Yeah, Skokie homes will pose a challenge for me.
McMansions, remodeled 3 bedroom ranches and split levels mostly.
So work'n on my game. I know clients won't expect anything less then my best.
Speaking of challenges to skills, did you checkout Jerry McCarthy's thread on Fireplace defects?
Heck, took me awhile to see it.http://www.inspectionnews.net/home_i...ce-defect.html
