Re: NEW LICENSING LEGISLATION JUST INTRODUCED IN MICHIGAN
House bill 4162 is currently in the Regulatory Reform Committee. There is one bill sponsor, Rep. Richard LeBlanc from Westland. No co-sponsors at this point. The bill is essentially the same work that Rep. Accavitti had in May of 2008.

Re: NEW LICENSING LEGISLATION JUST INTRODUCED IN MICHIGAN
Update: on 10 March 2009, identical legislation was introduced in the Michigan Senate. Senate Bill 0355 was introduced by Senator Glenn Anderson, and is co-sponsored by Senators Raymond Basham and Michael Prusi. The text is identical to House Bill 4162. It appears to be a coordinated effort, and well organized. To date, the Michigan Association of Home Inspectors, under new leadership, has not addressed either piece of legislation.
