Default Indoor and outdoor coils different manufacturer's

I am looking for some information on if the outdoor condenser and the indoor air handler should be the same manufacturer on a new construction home?

Also, I have come across some units installed in new construction without a filter/dryer on the liquid line. Is this acceptable?

    Thank You

The indoor coil needs to be matched, the AHU brand does not matter except for the appropriate CFM and physical size.
IF you have a factory charged line set, the lack of a dryer may not be significant, but if you see field assembled joints a dryer is required.

More often than not, you will find the AHU 1 size larger than the condenser unit and usually this is acceptable. For specifics, consult the manufacturer. ie; up to 3.5 ton - AHUs may be .5 ton larger. 4 ton - 5 ton ahu ok.

When units are installed after the original furnace instalation it is not uncommon to find a different evaporator manufature then the condensing unit, most often the installer tryes to find a coil that will match up with supply plenumn and the furnace opening. As stated the BTUH capacity which determines the CFM is the most important match up.
