You haven't? Used to install them in condos in Miami-Dade all the time, wrote an exception in the code to allow for them as they were listed and labeled and had that charcoal filter doo-dad.

Then someone got wise and realized that, even though they are called "fart fans" (that was the reason for the charcoal filter - odor control) they really were supposed to be for exhausting the excess humidity *not* odor control, and that those little old charcoal filters did nothing for excess humidity.

After a few code cycles that exception disappeared.

In the meantime, though, thousands and thousands were installed in condos.

I have one in my bathroom. They are useless. One thing with mine is you can put a carbon filter in it. I guess we know what that is for cause it does nothing else.
