Default Clearance Height requirements for Direct Vent through roof

Does the 2-10 rule apply to all chimney systems, even if it is a direct vent exhausting a sealed front (decorative gas appliance) fireplace? Mst DV systems around here all terminate throught sidewall... and with that logic, the 2-10 rule would not apply. Any help.... greatly appreciated.

Nick, When it comes to combustibles there're major differences between wood burning and natural gas burning appliances.

Cool Re: Clearance Height requirements for Direct Vent through roof

Nick, your answer lies in the listed instructions with that HHT fireplace. No, they are reduced minimums compared to "chimneys". See the chart in the instructions for that model Fp.

Too bad the installer left those stickers exposed to the side where they show

Keep the fire in the fireplace.
