    Default Dryer on refrigerant line

Never have seen a dryer device on both the suction line and the refrigerant line.

    Any comments.

Ask alluded to in the link provided, it is evidence of a bad "burn-out" of the old compressor or a cautious installer.
The suction line filter drier is used to catch debris, acid, etc. from the system to keep it from returning to the compressor following a compressor failure (usually)
