Did you see the price? 200-250k! I guess you need a crank handle when the power goes out. Plus another remote control to lose.

DK: Yeah, boy! These are only for folks in JP's neighborhood where they can afford $13K inspections.

When I read that article, my first thought was that this could be very helpful to physically handicapped individuals. But, the price puts them "out of reach" to those who might need them most.

Those are ridiculous! Too many moving parts and motors to go bad. Ill stick with my hand powered models with hinges thank you. First off, these doors look like they open extremely slowly. What a waste of money 250K? WTF

My thoughts too while watching that video.

Instead of waving my hand and standing there looking dopey while the doors s-l-o-w-l-y opened, I could stand there and look dopey for less time by just opening the doors myself, get what I want, boil and egg, and those doors are still going up.

    What a waste of time.

Waste of money? Depends. Depends on what you call a waste of money.

The wife probably looks at the couple of Ferraries in the garage her husband has as toys and says 'Dang that man, I'm going to get my own Ferrari - my kitchen, I'll teach him. Then wait until he sees what I'm doing with the bathroom.

Nah, thats too much work too...plus imagine how dusty the inside of your cabinets would get with no doors. Just pay the 250 grand for these cabinets and be done with it

I inspected a bathroom once that had a toilet whose lid raised automatically when you stood in front of it. Seemed worthless to me.

It seemes worthless because it is worthless. Unless youre disabled in some way, it really has no benefits.

Toilet seats that raise themselves ? The wife would love to have something like that. You know how the ladies are always complaining how we men never raise the seat when doing our business.

Question is - does it lower itself when done going potty ? If not - and we don't lower the seat, then the ladies would complain that we don't put the seat "back down" !! Eh, I'll stick with the good ole fashion "raise it lower it" yourself type seat.

I don't know if any of you noticed, but you still have to open the dishwasher and load it manually.
