    Default Asbestos tape

I don't see asbestos tape hardly at all. What's the deal here? Does this look like asbestos tape? The home was built in 1961.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Yes it is " Suspected Asbestos noted at heating ducts", and give a link to Asbestos | US EPA
You didn't snort any did you?

Wayne, are you fairly certain of that? I just want to make sure before I start the firestorm between myself and the listing agent.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Not to answer for Wayne, but it is suspect ACM. You can not be 100% sure without testing it. This is why you call it suspect..

IMHO, it does look like ACM.

Wayne is correct. That material will most definitely contain asbestos. Don't worry about the Agent. Stick to your guns. If you end up not defining the significance of this possibility to your client, you will own the results. It does not matter how much asbestos there is.

    Good luck with the Agent.

"Suspected asbestos tape".... That'll absolve you of any liability!

    Ryan,

The term you are looking for is similar to ACM (Asbestos Containing Material): PACM (Presumed Asbestos Containing Material).

By the way, you wrote up that white plastic flex, I presume.

Jerry, that white plastic is the exhaust for the dryer and I did write it up. Thanks for your help.

i "suspect" you did not snort any! By the way Ryan, Asbestos fibers will float in the air for many days after just a small flick of the finger, so if you are in a location where "SUSPECTED" Asbestos is located, don't disturb it.
And if you see it in a crawl space, you should be wearing proper breathing aparatus or do not enter due to hazardous material presence. And note in the report as to why you didn't go in..

Wayne, actually I had my respirator on and I did tear a piece of it off to take a picture of it.
