    Default weird tiny "gutter"

The little "gutter" on the right (subject property) is as small as it looks. It discharges into the neighbor's gutter on the left. Ever seen anything like this?

You mean that triangular shaped box with the downspout attached to it?

    Any other views of it?

Whatever it is ... it looks all wrong to me.

I think the point is just to catch runoff that otherwise would go over that little bit of open eave. This is in a 5 year old development.

If this is in a development, are other houses built like that? I would note it in the report and recommend the client verify HOA requirements, etc. If it rains a whole lot or there is ice damning which lead to leaks on the neighbors side, your client could be looking at costs.
