Crawlspace vents
Does anyone know if it is acceptable to run the air conditioning lines through the crawlspace wall vent?
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Crawlspace vents
I didn't realize there was any other way to do it
Around here that's the method about 90% of the time.

Re: Crawlspace vents
Ryan,
I see it done a couple of different ways. Sometimes they use a roof jack flashing, but generally around here it is pretty standard to run it through the foundation air vents. Looks like the screen is damaged in your pic. The screen should be repaired, otherwise critters can party under the house.

Ryan, I just replied to your other post. Again I can write up 95% of crawlspaces, mostly no vapor barrier on floor.

Re: Crawlspace vents
It's okay ... as long as the vent area is not reduced below that which is required (and most lack proper minimum vent space anyway).

Re: Crawlspace vents
Looks like the AC installers were just too lazy to do it correctly.
