    Maybe it's just a local phenomenon, or maybe it is universal. Lawyers, politicians, and insurance companies must all defer to the biggest bullshifters of all - engineers . . .

    Not just in Texas.

    The Desert Research Institute (DRI) here is occupied by geotechnical engineers and other earth scientists yet their building has many structural faults attributed to poor site preparation and inadequacies in the structure as it related to the expansive clay soils that have been at that site for what - a few million years or so.

    JC: That's what I suspected. Designed by and with the construction overseen by engineers the stuff just breaks or falls over. No wonder we are importing real engineers from India. The engineering schools here suck.
