    I don't know where an engineer would put it but I always see it at arrow B.

    It appears that Arrow "B" references the installed door strut.

    Look at the manufacturer's installation instructions.

    I've never seen them on top of the door, I've always seen them 'where' the door opener attaches.

    However, I suspect that BOTH would accomplish the intended goal of not folding the door up.

    The winner, though, would be the one who said where the manufacturer says, which may be neither of you.

    That one looks like it is right where the point of attachment is-- which in my oninion, would be right.

    Of course it doesen't matter what I think... The manufacturer's instructions will supercede everything.
